Step 1 - attach bracket to backrest. The bracket is 4inch apart, the holes are 4.25 inch apart. I took the Dremel to it - but poorly designed, disappointing. Bracket thin aluminum I expect it to last 3 weeks. Says to use the 30mm screws - I did, after sitting on it for 30 minutes I could feel and see the screws popping thru the back support cushion. Chair overall is decent, but the backrest clearly had parts changed up and not matching instructions and will not provide support long term.
