IKEA Alex Drawer Computer Desk - White, Modern Home Office Desk with Storage for Small Spaces | Perfect for Remote Work & Study

The desk is the Alex desk from Ikea. I just to start with saying the shipping was super duper fast! But the price was inflated due to the high demand and being out of stock at IKEA stores. Nonetheless, it was my choice to purchase. I’m a teacher and I needed to create a workspace to teach online virtual school. Although shipping was fast, the pictures show damages that was probably due to handling during transport.Otherwise, the desk is what I’ve been searching for.Top corner arrived damagedThe assembly of this desk has been A complete NIGHTMARE! I have been assembling and building items as long as I can remember, and this is the WORST experience ever! (1) Missing screws. And not normal screws that you can find at Lowe’s or Homedepot. These were proprietary screws that could not be replaced. I spent an entire day trying to find something that would work in their place. Finally, after two days, I was in the home stretch, but NO, the holes did not line up on the bottom of the desk. The bottom was so heavy that it snapped the stupid little wooden dowels in half. So, now I get to go back to the store to try and find dowels, try to get the broken ones out of the other half of the desk, drill holes in the correct spaces, etc. NEVER AGAIN! NEVER!Great desk. Having a little problem figuring out how to attach the little hatch door at the rear but other than that it's very nice.I bought this to put along my Alex drawers in my makeup room. I love the cable management on here too because I have my iHome cube and sometimes laptop on the desk, so no messy wires all over or hanging off the top.Be sure to follow the directions!!It came sooner then expected and was packaged nicely. No damage was done to the desk but we did have to assemble it as expected. It is definitely wide and long enough to hold a computer and do work on.This desk is not worth the money. This was cheaply made like Wal-Mart. Except WM is way cheaper than what I spent on this. Items were damaged and screws would not fit in the drawers. I am sick knowing I spent this money and my desk from WM was way better. I would not buy this..trust me.Cant believe we paid $400 for an Ike’s desk with parts that came broken. And they are not stocked locally.
